Zhen E. Rammelsberg, of Marion, Iowa, is a published playwright, lifelong theatre enthusiast, and dedicated arts leader. She has done everything from treading the boards to painting them—and just about everything in between. For more than a year, she has proudly served as Managing Director of Playtime Poppy Children's Theatre and is excited to help lead the organization into its landmark 75th Season and Anniversary Celebration.

Zhen E. continues to style wigs and apply makeup for performers with the CR Opera Company, as well as many local theatre organizations throughout Eastern Iowa. Alongside her husband, Robert, she is passionate about Korean adoptee justice and advocating for adoptee rights. In her free time, she enjoys writing, traveling, cooking, hiking, playing with her four (yes, FOUR!) cats, collecting Hello Kitty, and spoiling her grandchildren.
