Audience Guide

Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical, based on the beloved children's book by Dr. Seuss, directed by Kennedy High School’s Theatre Department, Steven Tolly and Alisabeth Von Presley, brings Dr. Seuss’s classic tale to life with music, laughter, and holiday magic. High atop Mount Crumpit, a miserly and ever-cantankerous Grinch has spent years watching the joyful Whos of Whoville celebrate Christmas with endless cheer—and he’s had enough! In this spirited and whimsical retelling, filled with Seussian rhymes and heartwarming moments, the Grinch hatches a plan to steal Christmas itself. But when he crosses paths with the kind-hearted Cindy Lou Who, everything begins to change. Through the power of kindness, community, and holiday spirit, audiences witness a transformation that proves even the smallest gesture can grow the biggest heart.

We can’t wait to share the joy of live children’s theatre with you!

“I have fond memories of walking to Kennedy High School to see the Playtime Poppy show every year. When I was old enough, I led the tours of the set and scene shop for Operation Backstage.”
